Return of the Infernalis Novem

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.

Tyrannus's Adventure

Roll Call:
Tyrannus-Present
Locke-Not Present
Goth-Present
Bethrynna-Present
Robert-Present
Elori-Not Present

Soon after defeating the Elven kidnappers, our adventurers find Bethrynna, bound with her head covered, in their midst. After freeing her and returning her belongings, there was a short rest. Upon waking, the group arbitrated about whether to take care of Bethrynna’s pressing business in the Feywild, or assist Tyrannus in investigating the cryptic note he received from Captain Rogar in Scalehold. Winning the debate by only a small margin, the group set out to Scalehold. Right after entering Scalehold, Elori soujourned to the inn to meditate, while Bethrynna was solicited to assist in healing a handful of Dragonborn villagers, who had fallen sick 2 weeks prior with a spasmodic illness.

The rest of the group headed directly to the barracks where they were met by Rhogar who informed Gauthak that his Drake was not allowed inside. Rogar spoke of a debt that Tyrannus owed and offered a path to redemption.

During her assistance in healing, to find the cure for the confounding illness, Bethrynna questioned Ramla, the town healer, about the occurrences that lead up to the sickness. She discovered that it appeared to be a poisoning that affected the nervous system. The first to fall ill was 6 months ago, and other Elven healers who traveled through the city attempted to heal but were unable to completely cure the patients.

During the investigation, it was discovered that an evil shaman named “Waningheart”, who had previously attempted to steal an artifact, had broken into the village successfully and fought his way into the clanmasters’ home where the artifact was kept, about two years ago. It was noted that Waningheart was previously haphazard and suddenly seemed stronger and more organized. His followers appeared darker also.

The group went to look over a couple of maps, only describing tactical, militaristic, and paths through the mountains to the North.

The group visited the clanmaster named Ra’ees and his wife Galia at their home. Ra’ees attempted to describe the artifact, which was black box with clan markings and inside was a velvet covering with a fist-size object underneath. Ra’ees couldn’t investigate further so was unable to describe the artifact further but it is postulated that the artifact has magical significance and could be the origin of the illness that seems to have befallen the villagers. Rhogar believes it could be Waningheart is using it to make villagers sick. Rhogar wants Tyrannus to find the artifact, which will clear his name.

The group rests for an hour afterwords.

Roll Call:
Locke-not present
Elori-Present
Bethrynna- present
Goth- Present
Tyrannus-Present
Robert-Present

Danger Zone: 5
Noteriety: 2

After discovering Waningheart’s schemes with the artifact, the adventurers found themselves North of the Scalehold, cautiously following a path astride a river. Goth used his natural abilities to cover their tracks and Tyrannus climbed a tree, discovering a waterfall some distance ahead. Elori cautiously approached the waterfall and soon heard foreign voices coming from the banks of the waterfall. Upon further investigation, Elori surveyed the group of what turned out to be Kobolds. Though there were 9 in total, several were using gourd shaped slings to mix a viscous liquid into the river, while others were mixing, with bent stirrers, large drums, occasionally adding other ingredients from vials next to them. Among the Kobolds was a shaman, who was chanting standing inside of a circular rune.

Suddenly, Elori let out a vicious yell and charged at the Shaman, feeling as if he passed through a wall after stepping into the rune circle, making him weaker. However, he was able to dispatch of the Shaman shortly after. Subsequently, the rest of the group was forced into combat. Robert stepped in quickly and attempted to dispatch much of the Kobolds near the rune circle. Bethrynna assisted the group with a ritual, making several Kobolds weak and the group feel more impenetrable. Spike assisted the group immensely by biting the leg and killing one of the Kobolds.
Tyrannus eliminated a couple of Kobolds and the group soon disposed of the rest of the Kobolds with ease.

After the intense combat, a member observed tattoos on the Kobolds, learning that it was the symbol for Waningheart. The group also discovered an empty hidden room behind the waterfall which housed a small lab, stocking more of the poison. They also found a note, written by Waningheart, instructing the Kobolds to dilute the liquid and that he would be back to up the dosage.

The adventurers discussed who would stay behind in hopes that Waningheart would be by shortly, and who would go to tell the villagers about the poison in the water supply and investigate the source of the toxin or an anti-venom. Goth, Robert, and Elori stayed behind, setting traps while Bethrynna and Tyrannus went to the village. Bethrynna went directly to Ramla, who informed her that the venom came from a spider native to Scalehold but beacause of the quantity of the venom produced, the spider was more likely from the Feywild. Ramla assured her that they would attempt to create an anti-venom or at the very least, boil the water to sterilize it. Satisfied with this, Bethrynna and Tyrannus went back to join the rest of the group. Robert had created a “blind” in a tree near the waterfall to better view or snipe any potential enemy visitors. Elori used his vials of alchemist’s acid to create a trap just inside the waterfall. Gauthak set up a camouflaged hiding area on top of the waterfall. The rest of the group settled down on the ground to rest.

Sometime during their respite, assassins ambushed the group, leaving Tyrannus and Elori totally unconscious. After examining the assassins, it was discovered they were from the Feywild. The assassins had a no defining marks upon them. They did carry a list of names which had everyone’s name.

It would appear sojourning to the Feywild is in these adventurers’ future.

Tyrannus
Gauth
Locke
Elorei
Bethrynna

Upon entering the feywild, the adventurers decided to separate into two investigation teams. One seeking answers to what ingredients are the vials they brought with them. One team visting Bethrynna’s father, who had fallen ill a couple of months before. Elorei, Locke and Tyrannus spoke with Corlina, who answered their questions to the best of her ability. She informed them that the ingredients in the vial were magical. They were possibly from the sand on the island. Bethrynna and Gauth teamed up to investigate the cause of her father’s illness which caused his extreme fatigue, flu-like symptoms and muscle aches. Multiple craftsman had also fallen ill and 6 of the resident apprentices seemed to be suffering the same.

The team joined back together and shared their knowledge with each, deciding that they should attempt to gather the sand using someone’s bag of holding and head to the forest to find the spiders. Suddenly, several of the party fell into a large, deep crevice. Then they were faced with 4 large boars. After many futile attempts to dispatch the boars, the team decided it best to climb out of the crevice and forgo fighting the boars.
